Come Fly with Me

Jeff Johnson is running for Minnesota governor again but it's not what you might think. No, it's not the former Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson who ran against Tim Walz in 2018. This Jeff Johnson is a former St. Cloud city council member. Known as the “Minnesota axe grinder” when it comes to fraud, corruption, coverup, screwing around, "happy talk" and seeing politicians’ indifference directed towards citizens, Jeff is definitely not into politically correct "feel good" politics. So why is he running for governor? The answer is very simple. Jeff is running because he wants all Minnesotans to have a better quality of life than they currently have under Tim Walz. Even today, there are three powerful words that strongly resonate with Jeff from the US Constitution . . . We the People.

The US Dept. of Justice & Gov. Tim Walz

Let's be brutally honest. Minnesota is in very deep trouble. Governor Tim Walz has been a disaster. How often is the US Department of Justice asked to get involved in a state governor's mess? Welcome to Minnesota! Taxpayer fraud is over 1/2 billion dollars and that's just the fraud that has been discovered! This headline says a lot: State Republicans ask DOJ to investigate Walz administration's 'continuous inaction" on fraud (Alpha News, February 11, 2025). Ask yourself: How did Tim Walz allow things in Minnesota to get this bad? Go back to 2019 and Governor Walz would like you to forget this story of taxpayer fraud. Tack on another $100 million wasted on MNLARS (also back in 2019) so there has been a longstanding history of fraud and financial waste. The $6.9 million vacant Tim Walz morgue as reported by the Center for American Experiment got the 2020 Golden Turkey award for financial waste. Can Minnesota really afford this kind of longstanding financial irresponsibility? Tim Walz has the same worn out solution…ignore fraud and government waste but there's always time to increase taxes. More recently in January of 2025, KSTP covered an investigation and the title says it all - 62 investigations underway involving federally-funded Minnesota child care centers.

Tim Walz has been governor since 2018 and has had plenty of time to get Minnesota on the track to prosperity and success. Minnesota is burning out of control and his leadership and accomplishments can easily be described as one colossal train wreck after another culminating in his recent VP loss. And now the DOJ might get involved. Let's review the 10-count indictment against Tim Walz.

The 10-Count Indictment

  • Indictment 1: Minneapolis Riots
  • Indictment 2: Murders & Carjackings
  • Indictment 3: Executive Fiats
  • Indictment 4: Over $1/2 Billion Fraud
  • Indictment 5: Massive Tax Increases
  • Indictment 6: Defund/Demoralize Police
  • Indictment 7: A Coed Women's Prison
  • Indictment 8: "Rocks & Cows" Insult
  • Indictment 9: Businesses Closing
  • Indictment 10: Financial Debt Crisis

Does a mere 1/2 billion dollars of taxpayer fraud (since Tim Walz has been in office) bother you? Sadly, YOU could have kept some of this money for yourself and your family but instead, it was fraudulently squandered away! Unfortunately, massive taxpayer fraud is not where the Tim Walz story ends. Aside from taxpayer fraud, violent crime including shootings, murders, carjackings, sex crimes, and assaults have skyrocketed. In the Twin Cities, carjackings have been occurring almost on a daily basis. According to a January 11th Fox 9 news report, 12 carjackings were reported in the first 10 days of 2022. Murders plummet nationwide, but rise in Minneapolis (Minnesota Reformer - January 2, 2025) is highly problematic under Gov. Walz. We are seeing an exodus of Minnesotans and their money leaving the state.

Tim Walz leaves a COVID legacy of permanently closing businesses, hurting communities, and destroying families. His actions have led to permanent financial ruin, increased depression, divorce, and even suicides. The inconvenient truth is that many business owners have either suffered irreparable harm or have closed permanently during COVID because of his unilateral discriminatory and unconstitutional actions. Walz doesn't seem to understand that a provision to temporarily suspend the Constitution doesn't exist by ordering small businesses to close while keeping big box stores open. Does Gov. Walz think that the COVID virus is "self aware and intelligent" that specifically targets small businesses but is terrified and avoids big box stores? Having a grandma business owner thrown in jail for several months for selling sandwiches while criminals can freely vandalize a state capitol statute without any consequences is sickening. The business climate in Minnesota with oppressive regulations is ice cold year round.

Minneapolis became the 2020-2021 violence capitol of Minnesota. Today, is it any better? Efforts by the city council to defund police have demoralized the Minneapolis Police Department which has resulted in a high number of officers taking medical leave, retiring early, or resigning & turning in their badge. The red welcoming carpet for criminals has been rolled out in Minneapolis. According to CBS Minnesota 'They are Brazen, They're Not Afraid: Minneapolis Woman Carjacked In Broad Daylight, "Car jackings have recently become so common that Minneapolis police created a new system to track them." Another 61 car jackings . . . nearly two per day. Susie (the woman in the video) could have been raped or even killed. Four masked teens hit and kicked her. Just think, this beautiful young lady could have been your relative or best friend. She deserved far better.

Governor Walz has a plan . . . raise taxes on the wealthy. Here we go again. A wise economist once said when it comes to raising taxes, "the gap between 'more' and 'enough' never closes!" Like a Pavlov's dog experiment, Walz is naturally conditioned to talk about a tax increase again and again. Ironically as it sounds, there never seems to be any serious consideration and action by Walz to cut government waste and hold departments accountable. Does anyone seriously believe that Minnesotans don't have options like moving their businesses, assets, or themselves to tax friendly states like South Dakota, Texas or Florida?

Sick and tired yet? Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired of politicians who are scared to take a stand? Unprincipled politicians who lost their spines over time are commonplace. Many aren't really interested in their constituents because of their own self interests. We don't need politicians who are in it for the money, benefits, and power. We don't need politicians who want to defund our police and play "patti cake" with rioters. We need politicians who understand the concept of servant leadership and that it comes from the Constitution. Minnesotans are thirsting for principled leadership. It's time for change.

Leadership matters! Minnesota has now become a statewide embarrassment when it comes to leadership. Like a lost child in the middle of a large Minnesota cornfield, Tim Walz has no substantive plans for Minnesota. High on opinions but low on well thought plans, “try this and try that” is not a plan but someone who is simply wandering aimlessly through the political forest. Leading occasionally by executive fiats, Tim Walz seems to transition back and forth between a lost child to a defiant name calling emperor. Calling rural Minnesotans “rocks and cows” and Minnesota National Guard members "a bunch of 19-year old cooks" by a sitting governor is unprofessional, insulting, degrading, and hurtful. Jeff Johnson was a dairy farmer growing up on the family farm in southeast Minnesota and more recently drove a milk truck in central Minnesota so he "gets it" on a very personal level. Jeff Johnson will build up Minnesotans and not tear them down like Tim Walz does.
